The Low Income Taxpayer Clinic (LITC) provides free assistance to low income taxpayers who are involved in disputes with the Internal Revenue Service, including audits, appeals, collection matters, and federal tax litigation.

The clinic provides educational seminars and confidential one-on-one counseling on income tax issues to individuals with limited English proficiency.

The focus of the assistance is to educate the individual regarding their rights and responsibilities regarding taxes and providing them with a plan to solve their situation. Many times we provide them with referrals to other resources they need for specific issues.

The Low Income Taxpayer Clinic (LITC) offers free assistance to low-income taxpayers who have questions about Internal Revenue Service (IRS) procedures or who need help with any long-standing IRS issues.

The Low Income Taxpayer Clinic will:

  • Help you understand your rights and responsibilities as a taxpayer
  • Help you understand and respond to IRS notices
  • Represent you before the IRS
  • Refer you to qualified tax experts and to legal assistance

The Clinic cannot prepare your current tax returns for you. LITC provides individual counseling and group orientations.
