Community Health Advocacy (CHA)

Our Community Health Advocate assists people with MassHealth and other health insurance enrollment options, and helps publicize the importance of having a primary care provider to reduce visits to emergency rooms. Our advocate also helps residents complete or submit food stamp (SNAP) applications.

Our advocate works to:

  • Increase community knowledge of health care resources; improve community access to health care services
  • Increase community participation in health education programs
  • Improve community satisfaction with health care services
  • Maintain contact with persons at risk due to health-related problems
  • Identify community needs for specific health care services and obstacles to quality health care
  • And influence the content and experiences included in the curriculum of health care professionals.

Community Health Advocacy services are available at 619 State Street from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

Services are also available at 284 Main Street, Indian Orchard, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesdays. To reach the Indian Orchard office, please call (413) 543-1767 ext. 103.
