Weatherization Assistance Program

Weatherization Assistance Program
Springfield Partners for Community Action's Weatherization Assistance Program has been helping Hampden County families save money for more than 25 years.

Last year, we weatherized the homes of 1,500 families. These homeowners and renters saved an average of $350 to $400 a year in energy expenses!

If your application is approved, Springfield Partners weatherization auditors will conduct an in-home energy inspection and provide a heating system analysis. This will determine which energy-saving measures are needed. Licensed and insured contractors perform the work and auditors make a final inspection.

Energy saving measures include:
  • Weather-stripping for doors and windows
  • Wall and attic insulation
  • Caulking, to seal cracks
  • Air sealing

If you are receiving fuel assistance and would like to apply for Weatherization Assistance, please call (413) 263-6500.

Who is eligible for free weatherization assistance?

Eligible homeowners or renters must be registered to receive fuel assistance through the appropriate fuel assistance agency. Priority is given to households with elderly, handicapped, young children, and Native American residents.
