Financial Literacy & Credit Counseling |  | | | Credit Counselor Steve Plummer, second from right, leads a recent Financial Literacy class | Credit Counseling provides confidential, one-on-one counseling to residents seeking to establish, improve, or repair their credit. Our certified credit counselor will help you determine your credit score and identify ways to build or rebuild your credit. Our Credit Counselor also facilitates workshops on budgeting and financial literacy.
Financial Literacy workshops help people establish household budgets, create savings accounts, reduce debt, and build and maintain good credit scores. New sessions begin every month, and consist of four, 2-hour classes. Workshops are FREE and open to all Springfield residents. Spanish-language workshops are available.
The following workshops are sponsored by Springfield Partners for Community Action and Springfield Neighborhood Housing Services:
January 2012 Workshops: Held Wednesdays in January from 6 to 8 p.m., at Springfield Partners, 721 State St. 2nd Floor, Springfield.
Dates: Jan. 4, Jan. 11, Jan. 18, Jan. 25.
February 2012 Workshops: Held Mondays in February from 6 to 8 p.m., at Springfield Neighborhood Housing Services, 111 Wilbraham Rd., Springfield.
Dates: Feb. 6, Feb. 13, Feb. 20, Feb. 27.

Specialized Financial Literacy Workshops Springfield Partners for Community Action can offer Financial Literacy workshops tailored to your social service organization's needs.
Currently, Springfield Partners provides workshops to residents of the Springfield Housing Authority, Baystate Place and Colonial Estates; and to clients of Lutheran Social Services, Catholic Charities, and Friends of the Homeless.
